Corporate Social Responsibility
The Company believes that the primary purpose of a business is to actively contribute to the social and economic development of the communities in which it operates and to play a role of an enlightened corporate citizen. It has been the Company’s endeavour to put more value in bringing social good, which is beneficial to the society and thus making a difference in the livelihood of the people. The Company has always believed in giving back to the society and transforming its area of operations into a better place to live by raising the standards of education, health and the quality of life of people around it.
Under the Companies Act, 2013 and the Companies (Corporate Social Responsibility Policy) Rules, 2014, as amended from time to time, read with various clarifications, circulars and notifications issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the Company has constituted a CSR Committee in accordance with Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013.
The CSR Policy recognizes that corporate social responsibility is not merely a compliance; it is a commitment to support initiatives that measurably improve the lives of underprivileged by following one or more of the focus areas as notified under Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013 and Companies (Corporate Social Responsibility Policy) Rules 2014 (as amended from time to time) excluding activities in its normal course of business.
